The Waldhaus Restaurant is a premier place to unwind after a day exploring the mountains. Translated, Waldhaus refers to “House in the Forest”, which adds to the character of the restaurant (as it is actually situated in the forest). The Waldhaus is the epitome of German fine dining in Banff.
There are two sections to the Waldhaus, upstairs you will find the elegant space that makes up the Waldhaus Restaurant, below you will find a great pub with a world class summer terrace that is The Waldhaus Pub & Patio. This page refers to fine dining space located in the upstairs part of the building. Furnished with grand Swiss chairs and simple but effective wooden tables, you will soon feel relaxed as you sit down to a delicious German inspired meal. The restaurant specializes in Bavarian cuisine such as Alpine Cheese Fondue and Schweineschnitzel but guests can opt for a variety of options including the ones shown above plus others such as beef short rib, trout or chicken breast. Dessert is a must here, and one cannot miss out on the indulgent valhrona chocolate fondue or apple strudel.
